Yuletide Frivolity

I thought it was about time to post a couple of Christmassy images for you.

Jolly Ticklesticks!
Meet J.P Haddock (the rat catcher) showcasing his fabulous winter onesie. The rats are kindly treating him a Christmas tickle or two!

Elephants love Christmas too

Errol is a character I've been developing. He certainly finds himself in the most unexpected places and situations, such as meeting Santa and his wee helpers.

Here's to a peaceful, joyous Christmas full of love and laughter.
I look forward to sharing new tales and adventures with you throughout 2014!

Ho! Ho! Ho!

Chills and Thrills!

With it being Halloween today I thought this strange chap was apt to share with you. He's from a bunch of characters I developed several months ago for a picture book text, which is chockablock full of spooky individuals.

Fangtastic
Being a vampire is thirsty work

At this time of year I am partial to visiting locations that suit the autumnal backdrop. If like me you prefer places congested with the dead, I thoroughly recommend you drop by Nunhead Cemetery in South East London. You won't be disappointed in it's glorious, gothic atmosphere.

Enjoy your Halloween! Have fun collecting your candy and playing the odd mischievous trick. I'll be safe indoors watching a scary movie or two, whilst noshing on sinister treats. Perfect!

Bats all folks!

I'll be right back...

Colour Me Good!

Oooh it's coming into Autumn now and I'm enjoying the changes in the season, especially the lush colours and foraging for sweet chestnuts. I'm always happiest when it's colder so I can justify getting out my fine collection of hot water bottles!

As for my first post I'd like to share some fun activity sheets I've been working on for my latest picture book Ballet Cat (Walker Books).

Arthur is in urgent need of some colour!

I've had loads of fun choosing which artwork would work best for colouring-in and even made some character masks for the Crazy Cat Crew! Here's Nicola from my agents office trying one for size.

Watch out Nelson's about!

You can download the activity sheets and have a play from the 'Freebie Fun' link above this post. I hope you like them. Please feel free to send me any pictures of your finished colouring and masks, I'd love to see the alley cats out and about!

And it's been almost a few months, but this is my first chance to say how thrilled and grateful I am for the lovely review Kate Kellaway gave Ballet Cat in the Guardian in July. Cheers!

I'm working busily on some exciting new ideas that I hope I'll be able to share with you soon.

Bye for now.
